Teaching procedures:
Step 1 Lead|in
Greet students and show some pictures about some cultural relics, such as Taj Mahal, Mogan Caves and Yuanmingyuan, and ask students guess the names of them and how much students know them, in this way, can lead todays TOPic cultural relics.
Step 2 Pre|listening
Have a free talk about cultural relics in their hometown, and then invite some students to share their answers.
Step 3 While|listening
1.Global listening
Listen to the passage for the first time, and answer the following questions:
What the main idea of this listening material?
Where is Fengs hometown?
2. Detailed listening
Listen to the tape again and answer the following questions:
What is the one of biggest project?
What did Feng do in another project?
When did the land in the centre of the city was first built?
Step 4 Post|listening
Have a discussion in groups about how to protect the cultural relics in your hometown.
Step 5 Summary and homework
Summary: Invite one student to summarize what we have learned today.
Homework: Search some information on the Internet about Yuanmingyuan.
